How to raise violets at home

Violet Growing Conditions

Violets can grow well in well-drained, neutral alkaline soil. The suitable daytime temperature for their growth is 15~18℃ and around 10℃ at night. Violets need a certain amount of light to bloom, but shade is needed when the light is strong, otherwise the plant will grow poorly.

How to grow violets

When growing violets, you can also propagate them by sowing and cuttings. Generally, when cuttings, choose suitable healthy leaves, cut them off, disinfect them, and then cut them into the soil. Water them to keep them warm and moist, and they will soon take root.

Watering violets

Water violets thoroughly and place them in a dark place. After 3 to 4 days, place them in well-ventilated sunlight. Do not water them too much, otherwise the roots will rot. At the same time, be careful not to splash water on the leaves, which can easily cause leaf rot.

Fertilizing violets

During the growing period of violets, you can apply dilute decomposed liquid fertilizer and compound fertilizer about once every 7 to 10 days. Do not apply too much nitrogen fertilizer. The ratio of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium should be 1:1:1. After the flower buds appear, apply appropriate amounts of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers to ensure bright flower colors.

Violet Pest Control

When violets are diseased, light green spots will appear on the surface of the diseased leaves. This is usually caused by over-dense sowing and poor drainage. To prevent and control it, you need to pay attention to keeping the environment well ventilated and use the new fungicide Ethylhexyl A3 for treatment when the disease occurs.

How to raise violets at home

1. When caring for violets at home, you need to provide them with a mixture of humus, garden soil and river sand, and provide an ambient temperature of 15°C and sufficient scattered light.

2. Violets can be watered once every 3 to 5 days in spring and autumn, and cake fertilizer water can be applied for about 2 weeks during the growing season. Maintain good ventilation to prevent the occurrence of diseases and pests.

Violet care precautions

During the maintenance of violets, the pots must be changed in September every year, and pruning can be done at the same time, which is more beneficial for wintering. In addition, attention should be paid to preventing pests during maintenance, and more ventilation should be provided to prevent them from being attacked by pests.
