How to cultivate pansy

Pansy growing conditions

Pansy's temperature requirement is not too high. 15 to 25℃ is the ideal temperature for its growth. It can grow normally below 5 degrees for a short time, and can also tolerate short periods of zero degrees. However, it is afraid of high temperatures. When the temperature is above 30 degrees, flower bud differentiation will stop, so it is an ideal potted flower in early spring.

Pansies require a lot of sunlight and are best grown in full-sun conditions. If the light is not good, it will be difficult for pansies to bloom. It can withstand scorching sun and extreme heat. It does not have high requirements for soil and is suitable for planting in loose, fertile and well-drained loam.

How to grow pansies

Pansies are best grown in full sunlight and should not be placed in a dark environment, otherwise it will be difficult for them to bloom. They are suitable for planting in loose, fertile and well-drained loam, providing a growing environment of 15-25 degrees, and giving them a thin liquid fertilizer once a week.

Watering pansies

Pansies like a humid environment and have a relatively large demand for water. They require sufficient water, but the soil cannot accumulate water. If the air is dry in summer, you can spray water around the plants.

Fertilizing Pansy

Pansy does not require much fertilizer. You can apply some base fertilizer when planting. Giving it a thin liquid fertilizer once a week during the growth period can meet its growth requirements. Stop fertilizing after winter.

Pansy pest control

If pansies are infected with diseases and pests, the base of the stems will easily rot and the plants will fall to the ground and die. You can dilute formaldehyde and soak the seeds in it, or use fungicide to irrigate the roots, both of which are very effective.

How to raise pansy at home

When caring for pansy in a pot, you need to provide loose, fertile soil. It is best to place it on a sunny balcony. If the sunlight is very strong in summer, provide shade and water it in time to keep the soil moist. However, the soil in the pot should not be too wet, otherwise the roots will rot. Apply some thin liquid fertilizer on a regular basis, and the plant can thrive.

Pansy care tips

During the maintenance of pansies, we can promote its tillering by pinching and topping, and we can effectively control its plant height and enhance the ornamental value of the plant.
