Cultivation methods and precautions of shrimp flower

Cultivation methods and precautions of shrimp flower

1. Temperature

Shrimp flower likes to grow in warm places, and it will grow better around 18-28 degrees. The lowest temperature it can withstand is around 5-10 degrees. Usually the winter temperature must be maintained above 16 degrees to avoid frostbite.

2. Lighting

It likes sunlight, and it grows better in places with good light, but it can also grow in dark places. However, it cannot be placed in a dimly lit place for a long time, otherwise the color of the plant will become lighter, its growth will be slow, and even its flowering time will be affected.

3. Watering

The plant prefers the soil in the pot to be kept moist so that it can grow better. Generally speaking, you can gradually reduce watering after autumn, and also water less in winter.

4. Fertilization

During its growing period, apply low-concentration fertilizer liquid every 10 days or half a month. Flower fertilizer containing phosphorus and potassium helps it grow. At the same time, you can add flower fertilizer to its leaves once every week.

6. Notes

Propagation is mostly done by cuttings and sowing. Generally speaking, the operation is simple and the survival rate is high. Cuttings are mainly carried out in spring and summer. Pay attention to doing it in a cool environment, water it in time, and place it in a place where sunlight can be exposed later. Seeds harvested that year usually have a higher survival rate when used for sowing.
