How to grow Milan in autumn

How to grow Milan in autumn

1. Temporary reduction in fertilization

Milan itself is not very cold-resistant, so the amount of fertilizer needs to be reduced in autumn because the temperature will change and the root system's absorption capacity will weaken. Avoid applying too much nutrients, which will accumulate in the roots and cannot be absorbed. However, its flowering period is relatively long. If it happens to be autumn when the flowers have just bloomed, you can supplement them with an appropriate amount of nutrients first, and then reduce them after the flowers have faded.

2. Temporary reduction in watering

In order to improve the resistance of the plants so that they can safely survive the following winter, it is necessary to reduce the amount of watering at this time. The climate in autumn will be cooler, and unlike the high temperature in summer, evaporation will be faster, and the time interval between each watering can be extended.

3. Keep warm

In early autumn, the temperature is not too cold and the plants can still adapt. Frost will come in a while, and the outdoors will no longer be suitable for plant growth, so you can put the plants indoors for maintenance. After entering the room, you still need to remember to open the windows frequently to let in air. This will allow the plants to better adapt to the new environment and lay a good foundation for the following winter.
