How to plant lotus

How to plant lotus

1. Planting time

Bowl lotus can be planted in all seasons, but it has high requirements for temperature. The water temperature should be controlled at around 16 degrees before germination, and the temperature should be controlled at 15 to 30 degrees during growth after germination. If the indoor temperature is low in winter, sow in spring.

2. Seed Processing

The seed shell of the water lily is relatively hard. Before planting, you must find a way to make a small opening at one end of the round head. You can use pliers to carefully break it or rub it on the ground. Only with the opening can water seep in.

3. Soak the seeds

Soak the broken seeds in warm water at about 30 degrees for about a week. Change the water 2 to 3 times a day. They will generally germinate in five days. If they have not germinated after a week, just throw them away.

4. Hydroponic seedlings

After germination, hydroponics should be carried out. The temperature should be controlled at around 25 degrees. Soak in water for 5 to 7 days. During this period, there must be sufficient light and the water depth should be about 10 cm, until roots and leaves grow.

5. Basin setting value

After the leaves grow and roots take shape, you can plant them in the potting soil. When planting, press all the seeds into the mud. The leaves should be stretched out on the water surface, and the water cannot submerge the leaves.
