Morning glory pests and diseases and their control methods

Morning glory brown spot

When morning glory becomes diseased, circular or polygonal spots will appear on the leaves, with dark gray in the center and dark brown at the edges. Many light black mold layers will appear on the surface of the lesions. In severe cases, the lesions will not cover the entire leaf and the leaves will wither.

Prevention and control methods: Plant closely, avoid excessive watering, and remove diseased leaves promptly;

Spray Guoguang Bixian promptly at the early stage of the disease, once every 7 to 10 days, and spray 2 to 3 times continuously.

Morning glory damping off

Morning glory grows in a creeping manner, but it can also suffer from lodging disease. When the disease occurs, the whole plant droops and lies on the ground, and the leaves gradually turn yellow and rot.

Prevention and control methods: Once the disease occurs, the diseased plants should be removed in time, and the soil should be irrigated with pesticides such as Prochloraz, Frost-methyl, and Root Disease Control. You can also use 800-1000 times diluted thiophanate-methyl and thiophanate- methyl for prevention and control.

Morning glory pests

There are fewer pests in home-grown morning glories. Unless your home is particularly messy, pests are generally rare. Common pests of morning glory include aphids, leaf rollers, red spiders, and cabbage loopers. Pay attention to observation during maintenance and spray relevant pesticides if you find insects.
