In the process of maintaining Clivia, correct repotting is a key link. It not only provides a more suitable environment for the growth of the plant, but also helps promote the healthy development of Clivia. So can the Clivia be repotted now? How to change it? Let’s learn more about it below. Can I change the pot for Clivia now? Now in October, you can repot the Clivia. Usually the best time to repot Clivia is from April to May in spring and from September to October in autumn. During these two periods, Clivia is in its growth period and can easily resume growth after repotting. How to repot Clivia? 1. Remove the pot Remove the Clivia from its original pot. Before removing the flower from the pot, limit watering for a few days to allow the volume of the flower soil to shrink slightly, then gently tap the pot to separate the soil from the roots. When removing the Clivia from the pot, use a gardening spade or your fingers to carefully remove it from the soil, being careful not to damage the roots. You can also put the flower pot upside down on the ground, use a small flower shovel to pound the soil along the wall of the flower pot, after about 1/3 of the planting material is pounded out, drag out the soil ball of the Clivia. 2. Prune the roots Check the root system and cut off any rotten, dry, or overly long roots. The pruned roots can be soaked in a carbendazim solution for disinfection to prevent infection. 3. Pot soil selection The new pot should be slightly larger than the original one to ensure that the roots have enough room to expand. In terms of material, either a ceramic basin or a plastic basin with good air permeability can be used, and there must be holes at the bottom to facilitate drainage. The soil can be special orchid soil, or you can mix it yourself by mixing leaf mold, perlite and vermiculite in a certain proportion. 4. Basin operation Lay a layer of broken tiles or gravel at the bottom of the new pot to increase drainage, then add some new soil, place the Clivia in the center, and then slowly fill the remaining space, gently compacting it with your hands. 5. Maintenance points (1) Watering: After repotting, water the plants to help them take root, then place them in a cool place to help them grow. If the roots are not dried when potting, you need to wait until the pot is dry before adding water. (2) Pay attention to light and temperature: After repotting, avoid direct sunlight and place the plant in a well-ventilated and shaded environment. At the same time, pay attention to controlling the ambient temperature, keep ventilation and cooling in summer, and prevent cold invasion in winter (3) Fertilize regularly: Fertilize once a month or so after repotting. You can choose diluted liquid fertilizer to ensure adequate nutrient supply for the plant. In general, it is possible to repot Clivia in October, but you must pay attention to the correct repotting method, so as to provide Clivia with a more spacious and favorable growth environment and promote the healthy development of its root system.
