How to grow violets

1. Select seeds

After the flowers fade from August to October each year, you can harvest its mature seeds and sow them immediately after harvesting.

2. Timing of sowing

We said above that the seeds should be sown immediately after harvesting, so the best time to plant is in autumn. Sometimes the seeds can be saved and planted in the spring of next year.

3. Planting seeds

When planting it, you must first make sure that the distance between plants is 45 to 60 cm, and the best planting depth is 7 to 8 cm. Of course, you can also carry out forced cultivation. After planting the seeds, cover them with vermiculite, maintain a certain humidity, and keep the temperature between 18 and 21 degrees. After a while, it will sprout.

4. Seedling management

After the small buds grow out, you can move it to a place with more light and good ventilation. Then apply a small amount of nitrogen fertilizer, control the daytime temperature at 21 degrees, and the night temperature at around 10 degrees, and this temperature must be maintained until it grows the fifth leaf.

Then give it appropriate amount of water and keep the humidity at around 70%. It will soon grow leaves. When it grows two true leaves, you can put it in a pot. After potting, the initial temperature needs to be between 15 and 18 degrees. Then after a week, the temperature can be lowered to 10 degrees, and after another week it can be lowered to around 5 degrees. When spring comes, you can maintain it at natural temperature and fertilize it normally at this time.
