The fastest way to root Clivia

The fastest way to root Clivia

1. Water immersion method

This is relatively simple and has a high success rate. The first step is to place the plant's seedling stems in a cool place for about ten days. Then, remove the excess pseudobulbs and soak them in water for two or three days. Then, use 2 to 5 percent concentration of sugar water to soak the area about one centimeter below the stem of the plant seedling. After a whole day, take it out, wash it, and then plant it in cuttings. It will easily grow roots.

2. Soaking method

This method is similar to the previous one, except that it uses medicine. You can choose a vitamin B12 solvent and add enough water to dilute it. Then, put the part below the stem in for about five minutes and then take it out. This will help speed up root growth. Alternatively, you can place it in a potassium permanganate solution at a concentration of 0.2 to 0.5 percent. The soaking time needs to be longer, about a whole day. In addition to helping the roots grow, it also prevents them from rotting. There are many other options available, such as rooting powder, etc., which I will not introduce here one by one.

3. Drying method

First, cut the seedling stems and then place them in a ventilated place for about five or six hours. When the incision is almost dry, you can start hydroponics. By doing this, roots will grow quickly and the chance of survival will be high.

4. Warming method

This method is easy to understand. Simply put, it is to increase the temperature. For hydroponic plants, roots are easiest to grow when the temperature is above 35 degrees. Some professional breeding places use hotbed cultivation, which is the method used. If you have the conditions to raise it at home, you can also try this method.
