How to grow chrysanthemums in autumn

How to grow chrysanthemums in autumn

1. Watering

Watering plays an important role in its growth. We must give it sufficient water so that it will grow better and its flowers will look better. When the flower buds appear, we need to give it more water. In autumn, the amount of watering should be determined according to the weather. You can not water on rainy days, water less on cloudy days, and water more on sunny days. In addition, the best watering tool is a fine-meshed watering can. Don't water it too much, and don't water it too hard, otherwise it will easily cause its roots to rot and wither.

2. Fertilization

1. Before fertilizing, you need to loosen the soil and do not water it. After that, we need to add liquid fertilizer when the soil in the pot is relatively dry. When fertilizing, do not let the fertilizer water get on the leaves, otherwise the leaves will easily turn yellow. After applying fertilizer, use a spray bottle to add clean water to it, so that the fertilizer on the leaves can be washed off.

2. Wait until early October and then use 0.1% urea and 0.05% potassium dihydrogen phosphate. Apply it about once every five days. You can also use this kind of fertilizer once and organic liquid fertilizer once. In addition, we can also mix the above fertilizers and spray them at night as top dressing, about once every three days.

3. We need to check the leaves every day. If the veins become wider, the color is no longer bright, and the leaves become stiff, we need to reduce the application of fertilizer. The second node from the top of the plant is the thickest part of the entire plant. If the buds of the flower heads are still blooming and showing color, no more fertilizer should be applied.

3. Pruning

In autumn, it reaches the budding stage, but no flower buds grow, and new leaves are still growing in the place where it grows, so the buds above need to be cut off. If you let it bloom arbitrarily, it will easily lead to the shape of the flower being ugly. And after it has fully developed, we need to cut off the part below the receptacle that is too high, and then tie the flower head tightly, so that the flower will grow better.

4. Lighting

After flowering, those with lighter colors need to shade them, while those with darker colors need to give them more light.
