How to prolong the flowering period of peony

How to prolong the flowering period of peony

1. Clean the buds

Because when it blooms, flower buds will grow at the top of the branch or the leaf veins, so we can pay attention at this time to see if there are any compact buds. If there are, you can consider removing the weak buds, because this will concentrate more nutrients on those larger buds, and the flowers that bloom will be larger and the flowering period will be longer.

2. Adjust the lighting

We should know that if there is sufficient light, it can have more beautiful flowers, and the color will be very beautiful, but if the light is relatively insufficient, it will bloom more slowly, and the size of the flowers will also be affected; if the light is too strong, it will easily cause damage to its flowers, and there may be residual flowers. Therefore, more appropriate light can prolong its flowering period.

3. No watering

Do not sprinkle water on it, especially when it is blooming, do not sprinkle water on the leaves or flowers, otherwise the flowers will easily wilt and may also be infected. Only by not sprinkling water on it can you extend its flowering period. So if you want to water the plants, you must be careful not to accidentally get water on them.

4. No fertilizer

It is also not feasible to apply fertilizer, otherwise the branches will grow too long and the nutrients of the flowers will be taken away, so the flowering period will be shortened. Therefore, not applying fertilizer is also an important way to extend the flowering period. So everyone must keep this in mind, otherwise it will easily cause its flowers to wither prematurely.
