How to deal with bougainvillea not sprouting

1. Temperature problem

(1) Specific reason: As we have said above, this plant is native to the tropics. Therefore, it needs a relatively warm environment. Specifically, the suitable temperature for its growth is around fifteen to thirty degrees. However, it will vary with the change of seasons. From May to September, the growth rate is fast, and the temperature is between 19 and 30 degrees. From October to April of the following year, the temperature is between 13 and 16 degrees.

(2) Solution: If the problem is temperature, then we need to find the right solution. For the southern provinces, open-field cultivation is possible. However, for areas further north, the temperature conditions are generally not met. Therefore, it must be grown in a greenhouse. If it is a potted plant, it must be moved indoors in time when the temperature is low. No matter where you plant it, try to keep the temperature within the appropriate range for it.

2. Root damage after transplanting

(1) Specific reasons: This situation applies to plants that have just been transplanted. We all know that the roots of plants are easily damaged during transplanting. If it is injured, it may not sprout for the time being.

(2) Solution: Adjust the environment around it and place it in a bright and ventilated place, such as a balcony. Also, remember to water when the soil is dry. Alternatively, you can also spray some water on the leaves.

3. Watering problem

(1) Specific reason: Although it prefers moisture, it cannot be watered too much. If there is too much water, the roots may rot due to long-term soaking. Then, it will naturally not sprout.

(2) Solution: If this is the case, then the amount of watering must be adjusted. It is relatively drought-tolerant, so just wait until the soil is completely dry before watering.
