What to do if Lithops is wrinkled

What to do if Lithops is wrinkled

Causes of wrinkles

Reason 1: Lack of water

When you observe Lithops, please pay attention that if the sides of the Lithops close to the roots begin to wrinkle, then this means that it is lacking water or there is something wrong with the roots.

Lack of water will affect the growth of the plant, starting with the roots, where they lack nutrients, which in turn affects the leaves, causing them to also lack water and the nutrients needed for growth, causing the entire plant to become dry and wrinkled.

Reason 2: Peeling

If the Lithops starts to wrinkle from the butt crack on the top, then this means that the Lithops is shedding its skin during the growth process. Wrinkles will appear when shedding its skin because the skin and flesh separate, and the plant will naturally become wrinkled.

The seat is necessary for growth, don't worry, it will not harm the plant.

Wrinkle prevention

Moisture

In some cases, newly transplanted Lithops need to grow roots again, so the water supply of the plant will be insufficient. It is normal for the plant to wrinkle. Don't worry, just add water.

It is necessary to water enough so that the plants can absorb the moisture they need for growth and promote the freshness and brightness of the plants.

But remember not to water too much, especially do not let water accumulate in the potting soil, so as not to cause root rot of the plant, which will also cause the plant to become wrinkled. So control the amount of watering and just make the potting soil moist.

illumination

Also pay attention to light. Lithops likes light, but avoid direct sunlight, as this will burn the plant and cause it to gradually become wrinkled.

Therefore, you only need to ensure that it can get sunlight for about 3 hours a day, and then move it to a place with partial light and partial shade for maintenance.
