How to plant African ice grass seeds

Seed selection and processing

The selection of seeds is relatively easy. When selecting seeds, we should choose those that are not attacked by diseases and have no signs of insect bites, and we should not choose those that are too dry and shriveled. After selecting the seeds, we cannot sow them immediately. We need to process them in some way to increase the probability of germination. We can soak the seeds in warm water at about 20 to 30 degrees. The time does not need to be too long, two to four hours will be enough.

Time of choice

As for the time, there are no strict requirements. However, if sowing is done in summer, because the seeds are sensitive to high temperatures, too high temperatures may affect the germination rate, so the temperature needs to be specially controlled.

Planting and management

First, sow the seeds about nine centimeters apart. After sowing, you need to cover it with a layer of soil. Be careful not to cover it too much, because if the soil layer is too thick, it will be difficult for the seeds to break through the soil. In addition, the temperature also needs to be adjusted, around 20 degrees Celsius is best. If sowing is done in a season with relatively low temperatures, some insulation measures need to be taken. If you sow seeds when the temperature is high in summer, you must take some cooling measures. Also, ventilation is very important.

For colonization

If all conditions are suitable, the seeds will germinate quickly. It will take about twenty to forty days to grow four or five leaves. At this point, we can plant these seedlings.
