How to plant Phoenix bamboo seeds

Soil selection

Phoenix bamboo likes sandy culture soil, and large pieces of gravel can be removed from the soil before planting.

It likes slightly acidic culture soil. Before planting, the pH value of the soil can be adjusted to between 4.5 and 7.0 to facilitate better growth of the plant.

Its seeds need plenty of oxygen when they germinate. If there is insufficient oxygen, the seeds may change their breathing method, producing ethanol and causing seed rot. Therefore, you should choose a culture soil with good air permeability.

Planting in moist soil can increase the germination rate of its seeds. Therefore, try to choose a culture soil with a certain water retention capacity.

It requires a lot of nutrients to grow. When choosing the culture soil, you should choose the one with higher fertility to ensure that there is enough nutrition supply to support the growth of seedlings.

In order to ensure a good germination environment for the seeds, it is best to expose the culture soil to the sun for a few days for sterilization before sowing.

Seed treatment

Before planting the seeds in the soil, soaking them in water at about 35°C for 1 to 2 days can greatly increase the germination rate of the seeds.

Planting method

First, choose a flower pot. It should be of suitable size, neither too big nor too small so as not to affect the appearance.

Place some small rocks at the bottom of the pot to increase the soil's ability to retain water.

Put the prepared soil into the flowerpot and spread it flat, then sprinkle the seeds soaked in warm water on the soil surface. At this time, you must be careful to handle the seeds with care and not throw them away casually, otherwise the seeds may be mechanically damaged and their germination may be affected.

Then cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil. Make sure the covering soil just covers the seeds; do not cover it too thinly or too thickly. If the covering soil is too thin, the roots of the seeds will not be able to take root in the soil. If the covering soil is too thick, the seeds will encounter unbearable resistance when germinating and will not be able to germinate.

Then use a kettle to moisten the culture soil and maintain a moist soil environment, which will increase the germination rate of seeds.

Finally, move the flowerpot to a semi-shaded place and water it in time. After about 40 days, you will be able to see the seedlings of Phoenix Bamboo.
