Soil selection

The choice of growing soil is a very important step in the process of growing flowers. If the right growing soil is chosen, the flowers will often bloom very lushly, but if the wrong soil is chosen, sometimes they will not even bloom. This requires us to choose the planting soil for it according to the preferences of the flowers.

Seed collection and processing

The fruits of Weigela usually mature in September and October, which is when we collect seeds. Pick the seeds from the branches and place them in the shade to dry. Use tools to crush it and then winnow it, and then you can get high-quality seeds.

One week before planting, the seeds need to be germinated to increase the germination rate.

Sowing method

Choose a flowerpot of suitable size and put the prepared growing soil into it. Be careful not to fill it too full, just fill it about 80% full.

Sprinkle the germinated seeds evenly on the soil surface, and make sure the distance between the seeds remains moderate, neither too small nor too large.

If the spacing between plants is too large, the flowers will grow too far apart, appearing scattered and ugly. If the distance is too small, there will not be enough space between the flowers, resulting in insufficient growth resources and poor growth.

Cover the seeds with a layer of planting soil of moderate thickness so that the seeds are submerged in the soil.

Finally, pour some water into the flowerpot to ensure that the growing soil is moist.

The germination time of seeds varies depending on the specific situation, but as long as they are properly cared for, new seedlings will emerge in about 20 days.
