The diameter of the juniper can reach about 3.5 meters. The bark is dark gray in color. From a distance, it looks like a long spire. The branches are evenly distributed in different directions. The twigs are generally upright or slightly curved.

The diameter of the Platycladus orientalis is about 1 meter, the bark is relatively thin, the surface color is light gray-brown, which is lighter. From a distance, the appearance appears to be conical. The small branches are relatively slender, extending almost in one direction and forming a plane.

2. Differences in flowers

The male flowers of Juniperus chinensis are oval in shape, about 2.5 to 3.5 mm in length, and usually have 5 to 7 pairs of stamens.

The male flowers of Platycladus orientalis are oval and about 2 mm long, while the female flowers are nearly spherical, about 2 mm in diameter, blue-green in color, and covered with white powder.
