Planting of seeds of Chinese fuchsia

1. Seed collection

The health of the seeds is closely related to the mother plant. When taking seeds, you should choose seeds from healthy, disease-free trees that bear many fruits. The fruit usually matures around November in late autumn, and is ripe when it appears reddish-brown in appearance.

2. Seed treatment

The picked fruits are soaked in water for seven or eight hours, then rubbed with hands. The peel and pulp will be washed away, leaving only the seeds. After standing for a while, pour out the floating seeds (shrunken ones) and impurities, and store the sinking mature seeds in cloth bags or in sand after drying.

3. Sowing Method

1. Sowing can be carried out in February of the second year. Soak the seeds stored last year in warm water for seven or eight hours, and keep the water temperature stable at around 45°C. Take it out after soaking, wet the river sand, and put the seeds in the sand to germinate. Cover with plastic film.

2. Choose a piece of land that is sunny, has little wind and plenty of light, and has soft and fertile soil. Start trimming the land and remove large rocks and other impurities in the soil. Sandy soil is best. When choosing land, it is best to start processing it in the previous year, so that the low temperature in winter can kill many germs and pests, preparing for this year. 3. Prepare the land into a north-south seedbed and use carbendazim for disinfection. Then add fertilizer. The seeds in the above catalyst can be planted when the radicle grows to one centimeter.

4. When sowing seeds, pinch off part of the radicle and sow the seeds every 9 cm. After completion, cover with half a centimeter of thin soil and water with a watering can to make the soil wet. Because the temperature rises in spring, you can put up a shade net or build a shade shed to prevent the seedlings from being burned by the sun.

5. After the seedlings have grown stably, thinning should be carried out. Just leave the strong plants.
