1. Division propagation methodCut off the main part of the pointed-tail taro where it connects to the small branches of the root and stem, and then plant them separately. Let them each become an independent pointed-tail taro. There are two types of division propagation methods: "full division propagation method" and "half division propagation method". 1. Full division propagation methodDig up the main plant of the pointed-tail taro together with all its roots from the soil, either by hand or with tools (such as scissors). Cut it into N secondary plants of pointed-tail taro, each of which can have 2-3 branches. Note that there must be roots underneath the secondary plants of pointed-tail taro, and then you can plant them separately. These divided taro plants can be divided again after two or three years. 2. Semi-division methodThere is no need to dig up the entire main plant of the pointed-tail taro. Just dig the soil around the edge of the main plant until you can see the roots of the pointed-tail taro. Then directly cut off the secondary plants of the pointed-tail taro (each secondary plant of the pointed-tail taro needs to have 2-3 rooted branches), and then plant it somewhere else. That’s it, a new pointed-tail taro is born. 2. "Bud" propagation methodWhat is a “bud”? "Bud heads" are the tender buds of the pointed-tail taro (buds that have not grown into stems and leaves). You can choose some "bud heads" that are relatively wide. There are "bud eyes" on the "bud heads". The "bud eyes" are spiral in shape. They are the small pits on the surface of the plant where the buds grow. Just plant the "bud" directly into the soil and it will grow into a new taro. When choosing soil, humus soil or leaf mold can generally be used. Using these two types of soil can increase the survival rate of the plant's secondary plants, provide more nutrients to the secondary plants, and accelerate their growth. In terms of season selection, winter should be avoided; breeding can be done in spring, summer and autumn. |
