How to plant Moon Feast seeds

How to plant Moon Feast seeds

1. Pollination

In addition to direct purchase, if you want to obtain Moon Feast seeds, you can also breed the mother plant. Moon Banquet can self-pollinate. In order to ensure the quantity and quality of seeds, we can help it pollinate artificially. There are many methods, and the specific steps are not described here. You can choose the most convenient and quickest method, which is to use your fingers (or a fine brush) to dip the pollen of the male flowers and apply it to the female flowers.

2. Sowing time

The specific sowing time depends on the specific time when the seeds mature. In the south, the early harvest is around late May, and you can sow it right after picking it. If the seeds mature after May, considering the high temperature and other reasons, you can refrigerate them and sow them in autumn.

3. Sowing Method

1. Do not use fine soil. It is best to choose sparse, breathable sandy soil with high nutrient content, or use nutrient soil directly. Place the substrate in a well-drained flowerpot and place a tile underneath to help water drain out of the drainage holes.

2. One fruit pod of the Moon Banquet fruit can contain more than 3,000 seeds, which are relatively easy to survive. Sprinkle the seeds evenly on the substrate without covering with soil. Use a watering can to water, and the water flow should preferably be in a mist form. The seeds will grow into seedlings in about ten days.

4. Post-maintenance

1. Maintenance is the most important thing when the seedlings emerge. Do not give excessive water, but keep the surface moist. Use a watering can to water the soil until it is moist. If the soil surface is dry in the later stage, water it in time. Spray water about three to four times a day, depending on the climate of your location.

2. As mentioned earlier, high temperatures are not suitable for its growth. Do not exceed 35℃, otherwise it will cause seedling death. Also, do not change the planting location at will to prevent the seedlings from adapting to the new climate.
