Lily Rhododendron shaping, pruning and flowering period control

Plastic pruning

Pinching and thinning buds

If they are pinched in time, they will bloom faster, so pay attention to this and pinch them before they bloom. If there are too many flower buds, the flowers will be clustered together, which is not beautiful, so the extra buds should be removed in time. After picking them, the flowers will not only be bigger, but also more colorful.

Pruning

Since this plant has a very strong germination ability, proper pruning can make them grow better. If they are not pruned, the viewing effect will be greatly affected. The time for pruning is generally after the flowers fall or in autumn, which will not affect its normal growth. Cut off branches that are diseased or infested with insects. These diseased branches may not only infect nearby branches, but also take away some nutrients. You should also cut off the crossed, overgrown, overlapping, and overly dense branches, as they will affect the overall aesthetics and also separate some nutrients.

Flowering control

The flower buds of this flower differentiate in autumn, and the flowering period is mainly adjusted by regulating the temperature during the period. There are two methods here. One is suitable for those who want them to bloom early. You can directly place the potted azaleas indoors. In addition to keeping the temperature at 20-25℃, you should also spray water frequently and control the surrounding humidity at more than 80%. In this way, they will bloom after 45 days.

The second method is suitable for those who want to delay their flowers from blooming. Place the azaleas that have formed buds in a low-temperature place, maintain it at 2-4℃, water them when the soil in the pot is too dry, and put them back outdoors in the summer, and they will bloom in a month or half a month.
