How to plant the spatholobus

How to plant the spatholobus

1. Preparation of medium before seeding

Before sowing it, we should prepare its medium first. Generally, we use cultivation soil and then mix it with some perlite and vermiculite. The mixing ratio depends on your usual watering habits. If you water it frequently, then the proportion of perlite can be higher. If you water it less frequently, then the proportion of cultivation soil can be higher.

2. Planting time

Generally speaking, when planting it, you have to consider the time. It is not possible in any season. Normal planting is to choose a season with a more suitable temperature, that is, spring or autumn. The temperature is more suitable at this time, so it is more suitable for it to germinate.

3. Transplantation after planting

When planting the seeds, there is no need to cover them with soil because the seeds are relatively small. After sowing, they need to be transplanted many times. When 6 to 8 leaves grow out, they can be planted in a 3-inch pot. It will basically bloom after about 6 months, and then change to a larger pot according to the growth rate of the plant.

4. Maintenance during planting

Because this plant has a very high demand for light, it is necessary to give it sufficient light. If there is not enough light, it will easily grow too tall and the flowers it blooms will be very poor. Semi-sunlight space can make the growth of the gorgeous sedge better, but it is necessary to avoid strong direct sunlight at noon. Southeast or west-facing window balconies are very good cultivation environments. In addition, the humidity in the environment must be maintained, especially when the temperature begins to rise slowly, it must be given enough water, because this is the time when it grows most vigorously, so sufficient water can meet its nutritional needs. Therefore, there are certain ways and methods when planting Chimonanthus variegatus. As long as you remember these methods, you can make it grow better.
