How to sow the star cactus

How to sow the star cactus

1. Choice of flower pots

When sowing seeds with the Star Pocket, you need to choose a special sowing pot. Such a pot is convenient and quick, has good water permeability, and will not affect the growth of the seedlings.

2. Selection and use of potting soil

It is suitable to choose sandy soil with good drainage, certain ventilation and rich lime for planting. The specific operations are as follows:

1. The first step is to cover the bottom of the potting soil with a layer of coarse coal slag, which can effectively block excess moisture at the bottom.

2. Before adding soil, be sure to filter and screen the potting soil, remove some soil with larger particles, then put it in the flowerpot, cover it with a thin layer of fine sand, and shake it gently to make the soil more compact.

3. Do a good job of disinfection

1. The potting soil needs to be disinfected before sowing. It is recommended to use potassium permanganate. The concentration can be seen from the color. Transparent red is best. If it is too concentrated, the seeds will be burned, and if it is too light, it will not have a disinfecting effect.

2. You can soak the plants and flowerpots in the prepared disinfectant solution to allow the soil to fully absorb potassium permanganate. After the topsoil is moist, you can take them out, drain the excess water, and then you can sow them after two to four hours.

4. Sowing Method

The seeds can be sown one by one, which will make it very convenient to transplant the seedlings later. Now make a small hole in the soil and put the seeds in. You can also spread it directly on the surface of the soil, but it needs to be more even.

5. Post-management

1. After sowing, spray the fungicide solution. Choose fungicides such as "carbendazim" or "methyl thiophanate", and dilute and spray evenly according to a scientific ratio. Remember to cover the lid after completion.

2. Place the seedling pot in a place with a temperature of 33℃ and keep the temperature difference between day and night above 15℃. Some seeds take longer to germinate, generally after about a week. If they have not germinated after a week, they basically will not germinate.

3. If you use clay pots, ceramic pots or plastic pots for sowing, you can choose to cover them with a layer of plastic wrap after sowing. This will not only increase the humidity and temperature of the surrounding environment, but also effectively help isolate the seedlings from external bacteria and pests.

The above is the method of sowing seeds for the Starry Sky Cactus. Is it useful to you?
