How to propagate the butterfly flower

Seed propagation

First, put the soil used as the substrate into the pot and stir-fry it to ensure that all pests and diseases are killed. Then it is time to germinate. Generally, put the seeds in water at a temperature of 25 to 30 degrees for 3 to 10 hours. Next, use a toothpick with one end wetted with water to place the seeds one by one on the soil surface and cover them with 1 cm thick soil. Then put the flower pot into the water. Generally, the water should be between 1/3 and 2/3 of the pot.

If the seeds are relatively large, sow them directly at a distance of 3×3, and the thickness of the soil should be two or three times that of the seeds. After that, just spray or sprinkle water, be careful not to water too much.

Cuttings

When taking cuttings, you must first choose a suitable substrate, such as river sand, peat or nutrient soil. It is generally not easy for us to find suitable cutting media, so it is best to sterilize the prepared ones before using them. Be careful not to use saline or seaside river sand, as they are not suitable for plant growth. Generally, we pick off the healthier, disease-free and thicker tops and use them as cuttings.

The temperature for cuttings should be between 18 and 25 degrees, and 50% to 80% of the light should be blocked to avoid excessive light and consumption of too much water. As for humidity, you can increase it by spraying, generally 1 to 3 times a day. If it is a sunny day, you can increase the number of times slightly. If the weather is bad, you don’t have to spray.
