How to fertilize keel flower

How to fertilize keel flower

1. Nitrogen Fertilizer

In order to make it grow well, it is recommended to apply nitrogen fertilizer once every month during its growth period.

2. Homemade Fertilizer (Soybean)

It is best to use fertilizer you make yourself. You can crush the peanuts or soybeans and bury them in the flowerpot. You can also soak the soybeans or peanuts until they are soft and cover them with soil to apply fertilizer.

3. Compound Fertilizer

In late autumn, in order for the dragon bone flower to absorb more nutrients, bury about 30 compound fertilizers beside the flower pot. This will enhance its frost resistance in winter. At the same time, water less and ensure that the soil in the pot is dry, which can improve the cold resistance of the dragon bone flower.

4. Winter fertilization method

In winter, you can fertilize once a month or so. However, in order to prevent root rot, the fertilizer should not be too concentrated, just an appropriate amount will be enough. Dragon bone flower does not need to be fertilized in winter. When fertilizing, try to use as little fertilizer as possible to prevent fertilizer damage.

Note: The leaves of dragon bones will turn yellow easily under the sun, so it is best to place them in a cool environment in summer. But in winter, it should be placed in a well-lit location, such as a well-lit location indoors, in an environment of 10℃ or above.

Dragon bone flower is a relatively drought-resistant plant, so just water it in moderation. In summer, you can water the plant every 5 days or so. If the soil in the pot is too wet, it will cause root rot. In winter, the watering time can be extended to 1-2 months.
