The best time to plant peony roots

When planting with peony roots, the best time is in autumn, concentrated in the period from the end of August to the end of September.

Please note that this time should not be too early or too late. Peony will grow many new roots and new shoots in autumn, so if you choose to transplant it in autumn, the injured roots can heal and grow well, so that it will be better when it grows again in the second year.

If it is too late to transplant, the root system will recover poorly, resulting in only stems and leaves growing but no flowers. If you choose to transplant in spring, the nutrients in the root system will be insufficient and it will be difficult to grow well.

Precautions for planting peony root

After the peony roots are planted, be careful not to transplant them frequently, as this will damage the root system.

When growing peonies, pay attention to reasonable fertilization. After fertilization, water them sufficiently and loosen the soil.

After the frost, the withered branches and leaves should be cut off. During the winter, the light and temperature should be maintained, and the soil should not be too dry.

After the peony flowers begin to appear, be sure to pick the side buds in time to allow the nutrients to be more concentrated, and the flowers will bloom well. After flowering, be sure to cut off the flower stalks in time to avoid further consumption of nutrients.
