How to fertilize five-color plum

How to fertilize five-color plum

Does this plant need a lot of nutrients?

First of all, of course, the five-color plum likes to grow in a fertile environment, but it will not have much impact if it is slightly barren. However, in order to ensure the quantity and quality of its flowering, regular fertilization should be used to assist.

What fertilizer is suitable for application?

During their golden period of growth, they naturally have higher requirements. You can choose to apply animal manure (after dilution) or cake fertilizer once a week or ten days or so.

When the flower is about to enter the flowering period, the treatment is different. It is best to use fertilizer containing sufficient P and K elements once every half a month (it also needs to be diluted before use), or choose to spray urea once every ten days (0.3% concentration) to facilitate flowering. However, don't forget to apply fertilizer after flowering to replenish the nutrients consumed.

After entering winter, when the temperature drops below eight degrees, plants will generally enter a dormant state and will hardly continue to grow, so at this time you can reduce the application of nutrients or directly stop fertilizer supply.

Tips on fertilizing

Because its flowering period is so long, the following treatment can be carried out in the first three quarters of the year: two to three times of fertilizer can be added each month, and liquid fertilizer containing P and K elements should be considered first.

The best fertilizer choice is of course animal manure that does not harm the surrounding environment and certainly does not contain chemical ingredients that are harmful to plants.

When fertilizing the five-color plum, be sure to dilute it before applying it. This plant cannot tolerate too concentrated fertilizers, so be sure to follow this principle. Otherwise, the plant's leaves and flowers may fall off.
