How to deal with root rot of Chlorophytum

There are many reasons for root rot of spider plants, such as excessive watering leading to water accumulation and root rot, excessive fertilization leading to root burn, etc. Root rot is reflected in the leaves, which means that the leaves turn yellow and dry.

Step 1

Take the entire spider plant out of the pot, carefully peel off the soil, rinse it clean, and cut off the old roots.

Step 2

Mix equal amounts of leaf mold and clean river sand and put them in a pot, plant the spider plant in it, and water it thoroughly.

Step 3

Place the spider plant in a warm, bright place indoors and leave it for about 10 days, taking care not to expose it to direct sunlight.

The leaves are wilting and yellowing, but the root system is intact. How can I save it?

There are many reasons why the leaves of spider plants fall over and wilt. One is frostbite. Of course, frostbite is relatively rare nowadays. The second is improper light. Too strong light or too dark environment can lead to this situation.

Step 4

Wait until the 2-3 cm surface of the soil in the pot is completely dry before watering (you can dig up the surface soil to see if it is dry). Wait until the small buds of the spider plant grow out, then you can water it a little more.
