Pruning method of red flower

Pruning method of red flower

The need for pruning of red safflower

The red flowered sempervivum has strong growth potential, strong germination ability, and is very resistant to pruning. Basically, after growing for a period of time, the original bonsai shape will be destroyed, and at this time it needs to be pruned. While maintaining the beautiful appearance, it also ensures the normal supply of nutrients, because the dead leaves and branches must be cut off during pruning.

Pruning period of red flower

During the season of vigorous growth, only light or moderate pruning is required, such as in early spring and early autumn. When the growth is not vigorous, heavy pruning can be carried out. In addition to cutting off some dead branches and broken branches, the newly grown branches can also be shaped.

Principles of pruning red flower

First, do not prune early branches, that is, when pruning, try to avoid early branches, and prune early branches only when you have no choice;

Second, do not cut thin branches. Thin branches are the branches that grow more vigorously and have stronger vitality. Therefore, when pruning, try to cut off the thick branches and leave the thin branches.

Third, do not cut thin branches with few branches, as these branches still have a lot of room for growth. Cutting off branches with many branches (including crossing branches, overlapping branches and reverse branches) can save space and maintain the appropriate density of the red flower successor tree, which is more conducive to its normal growth.

Fourth, do not keep any new small branches growing on the stump, remove them all to maintain the perfect shape of the red flower sempervivum.

Precautions for pruning red flower

First of all, the strength of pruning the red flowered sempervivum should be controlled. Only by properly controlling the strength can it not only have a perfect appearance but also vigorous vitality. Secondly, appropriate pinching can be performed during pruning to prevent it from spreading outward during the period of vigorous growth and affecting the normal shape.
