Flowering period control of four-season primrose

The flowering period of four-season primrose

When does the primrose bloom? It is one of the main ornamental flowers in winter and spring, and its flowering period is very long. The four-season primrose blooms generally from January to May, during which time it can bloom continuously for about a month.

After the four-season primrose blooms, the flower stalks can be cut off. After a period of dormancy, it can bloom again.

Methods for controlling the flowering period of four-season primrose

If you want the four-season primrose to bloom in February or March of spring, you can sow it in early August. After the seedlings begin to grow leaves, transplant them at the appropriate time, and transplant them a second time in October.

If you want to make the four-season primrose bloom in summer, it is actually possible. The seeds are sown in June of the previous year and moved into the greenhouse in November, where the temperature is maintained at around 18°C. When the primrose begins to produce flower buds, cut them off. When the plant begins to grow foot buds, keep them growing for a period of time. In March of the second year, when the temperature starts to rise, move it outdoors and let it grow, and it will bloom in the summer.

In addition, you can make the four-season primrose bloom in autumn, mainly in November. You can cultivate it by leaving the buds on the bottom. Or you can sow the seeds immediately after harvesting them, and transplant them into pots as early as September.

If you want it to bloom around December, the method is the same as above.
