How to grow water hyacinth

How to grow water hyacinth

1. Breeding environment

1. Soil: When caring for it, it can grow normally whether it is planted in the fields or in flower pots on the balcony at home, and it has almost no requirements for the soil. However, if the soil has good water retention, loose and fertile quality, the yield can be increased.

2. Temperature: It is not cold-resistant and grows fastest when the temperature is between 20 and 30 degrees. If the temperature is below 15 degrees, it will grow poorly and it will easily get frostbite at around 5 degrees. Therefore, pay attention to temperature control in winter.

3. Light: When maintaining it, place it in a place with good light, but block it if the light is too strong, and avoid strong light.

4. Watering: There should be sufficient water during the growing period, and water should be added frequently. However, watering should be reduced before flowering to promote the differentiation of flower buds.

2. Common pests and diseases

If the temperature is too high or the environment is hot and stuffy during maintenance, it is easy to cause diseases, so you should pay attention to timely prevention and control. If the number is small, manual capture will suffice, but if the situation is serious, spraying pesticides is still necessary to eliminate them.

3. Reproduction Methods

It can be propagated by sowing or division, with division being the main method. When dividing the plant, you can directly cut the runners or cut a few axillary buds and put them in water, and they will survive naturally.
