Azalea

Universal fertilization method

1. Mix cake fertilizer + bone meal in a ratio of 1:1.

2. Dig 3 to 4 small holes in the azalea pot, put 2 to 3 grams of mixed cake fertilizer + bone meal into each hole, then cover with soil and water thoroughly.

3. Apply once in March, June and September each year.

This method of fertilization can take into account both flower color and plant strength, and is suitable for all rhododendrons!

Fertilization method for flowers

1. You can also directly apply organic fertilizer once a month, and stop fertilizing one month before flowering. This way, the flowers will be the most natural and beautiful. If you still fertilize during the flowering period, the color of the flowers will become darker.

2. If you just want to grow the azalea strong and don't have any requirements for the color of the flowers, you can directly apply chemical fertilizers, but there is a possibility that the soil will become alkaline, so Huahua does not recommend it.

How to grow azalea on the balcony

1. You can choose a deep flower pot, then pad the bottom with one-third of large-grain expanded clay, cover it with a layer of nutrient soil, let the nutrient soil fill the gaps in the expanded clay, then cover it with nutrient soil to plant azaleas, and then soak the pot.

2. After completion, flower lovers who use this method can water the plant after the surface soil is dry, then water until the pot bottom is full of water.

3. The water in the pot tray at the bottom must not be cut off. This method allows the water to slowly seep into the nutrient soil between the expanded clay particles, so that the flower pot will not lack water. And because there is one-third of expanded clay buffer in the middle, the possibility of water accumulation is greatly reduced.

Clivia

Arrow Trapping

1. Cover the Clivia and pot with good quality plastic bags or convenient bags, and cover them with several layers to prevent water leakage.

2. After heating the water to 39 degrees, put the Clivia pot into the basin. The basin should be as large as possible, as the water in a small basin will cool down quickly.

3. When the water in the basin cools down to about 25 degrees, heat the water to 39 degrees, and then put the Clivia pot back into the basin. Repeat this 2-3 times a day.

4. You will see results after persisting for about a week, and reach the ideal height in 20 days.

Sphagnum moss roots

1. First dig out all the rotten roots of the Clivia, then soak it in potassium permanganate solution for 2 hours, then take it out to dry in the shade, scald the sphagnum moss with boiling water, and let it cool naturally.

2. Find a plastic bottle and punch some holes in it to use as a flower pot to ensure good ventilation.

3. When burying, squeeze out the water from the sphagnum moss first, just make it moist. Usually, spray water on the surface of the sphagnum moss to keep it moist. Punching holes in the pot has better effect.

Reed hair root

The so-called reed head actually refers to the bulb of an orchid with roots but no leaves. If you are a novice in growing orchids, you can use the reed head to cover out the roots.

1. First, choose fresh, plump, disease-free old reed heads, as well as clean sphagnum moss and moss (if not available, sawdust can be used instead). Sealed bag (plastic bag can be used instead).

2. Wrap the reed head with sphagnum moss, and then wet the sphagnum moss until it is slightly moist. Then put the wrapped reed head into a sealed bag or plastic bag and tie the mouth tightly.

3. Place the sealed bag in a warm place and open it every few days to allow for ventilation. Once you find that the reed heads have sprouted, you can poke a few holes in the sealed bag to allow ventilation. At the same time, you should also pat out the excess moisture in the sealed bag to prevent the sprouts from rotting. Generally, it will take more than half a month for the reeds to sprout!

4. After the old reed sprouts, generally speaking, when its new buds open their leaf openings and new roots grow out, it will be transplanted to other orchid pots.

Gardenia

Vinegar in water

Gardenia is an acid-loving flower, but most of the soil in the north is alkaline, and tap water is generally alkaline as well. In the long run, this is not conducive to the growth of gardenia.

Therefore, you can add a little vinegar to the water when watering. At least the vinegar must be diluted very thinly, about 15 to 20 times the amount of water. This method can not only provide gardenias with a slightly acidic soil, but also effectively improve the problem of yellow leaves due to alkaline soil.

Spray potassium dihydrogen phosphate

Regularly spraying the leaves with 0.3% concentration of potassium dihydrogen phosphate can make the gardenia branches strong and the flowers large.

Margaret

Topping

Margaret is one of the plants that is more likely to outgrow the pot, but if you want the margarite to outgrow the pot quickly, pinching the top is essential!

Pinching should start when the seedlings grow 3 to 4 pairs of true leaves, leaving only the bottom two true leaves. The specific steps can be seen in the figure below.

Topping

If you want roses to have more side branches, they also need to be topped.

1. When the rose shoots grow to 15-30cm, you can directly pinch off the top, that is, top them. Count 4-5 leaves from the bottom up, and just remove the small buds on top.

2. Wait until the new side branches grow to 15~30cm, then cut off the tender shoots. Generally, topping 2~3 times a year is sufficient. The specific order of topping can be seen in the picture below, from bottom to top.

Lucky bamboo/green radish/chlorophytum, etc.

Soybean water

Soybean water is actually the water left over from soaking soybeans before making soy milk at home. It can be used directly to water the flowers. Soybeans themselves contain calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, iron, selenium and other ingredients. Part of the soaked water will precipitate from the soybeans. Using this water to grow flowers can increase the nutrients in the soil, etc.

Vitamin tablets

You can add some vitamin B12 when watering. It is especially useful for lucky bamboo that has not taken root. Just throw 1 to 2 tablets into the watering can when watering.
