When to sow butterfly flowers

When to sow butterfly flowers

The planting time of butterfly flowers

When growing butterfly flowers, the main method of reproduction is sowing. When sowing, the best temperature for seed germination is around 20℃, and it takes about 10 days to germinate, and about 15 weeks to bloom. Therefore, when sowing, you can adopt the method of sowing in batches to meet the needs of viewing.

Basically, butterfly flowers can be sown in spring or autumn. In some areas, when the temperature is relatively high in winter and relatively cool in summer, butterfly flowers can be sown all year round.

However, the butterfly flowers planted in spring do not bloom as well as those planted in autumn, because the butterfly flowers are not resistant to high temperatures. Spring planting requires going through the summer, while autumn planting does not. Therefore, in some places where the summer is very hot, autumn sowing is adopted.

Butterfly flower sowing precautions

Generally speaking, the butterfly flowers planted in spring will bloom from July to September, the butterfly flowers planted in summer will bloom from September to November, and the butterfly flowers planted in autumn will bloom from February to April of the following year.

When the butterfly flower starts to grow, it needs proper maintenance. When the seedlings grow up, they can be transplanted. When the plants are ready for transplanting, you can choose to plant them in pots or in the ground.

When sowing, be sure to do it at the right time, not too early or too late, so as not to affect flowering. When choosing seeds, it is better to choose those that mature first, and they can be harvested when the skin of the fruit begins to turn white. In order to maintain the variety characteristics of butterfly flowers, different varieties should be kept at an appropriate distance during breeding.
