Golden Kylin's Four Seasons Maintenance

Golden Kylin's Summer and Autumn Management

Summer and autumn are the important growth periods for Golden Kylin, and reasonable maintenance is required at this time.

Golden Kylin likes light but avoids strong sunlight exposure. In summer, the light is strong and the temperature is very high, so it needs shade, otherwise its leaves will turn yellow. When watering, you need to follow the principle of not watering unless the soil is dry, and watering thoroughly when you do. In summer and autumn, you should also pay attention to preventing rainy weather. Do not allow water to accumulate in the pot, and do not let the soil in the pot be too moist for a long time, as this will cause root rot. As for fertilization, it is generally sufficient to apply a thin layer of bean cake water once a month.

However, in summer and autumn, you need to be careful not to water or fertilize too much, and don’t do it too covertly, otherwise it will cause the plant to grow too tall and reduce the ornamental value of the golden unicorn.

Winter and Spring Management of Golden Kylin

Golden Kylin is a relatively cold-sensitive plant. It can overwinter outdoors in some areas of the south during the winter, but in other places it is best placed indoors in a sunny place.

Generally in October, the golden unicorn can be brought indoors, and the indoor temperature should be kept above 15℃. In winter, the Golden Kylin should be watered sparingly and the soil should be kept dry. In spring, when the temperature begins to recover, the amount of watering can be gradually increased. When the temperature gradually rises, it can be moved outdoors.

During the Qingming Festival in spring, you can repot the golden Kylin. Keep the soil moist after repotting. After curing it indoors for about 10 days, you can move it outdoors for curing.
