How to grow daffodils in sand

When growing daffodils in sand, the first thing you need to do is prepare a suitable sand bed. Generally, when growing daffodils at home, one flowerpot is enough. You can choose a flower pot of suitable size, put a layer of sand in the pot, and spray the sand wet.

After preparing the sand bed, you need to process the bulbs. First, peel off the dry scales on the outside of the bulbs, and then remove the dead roots and soil. Make two cuts on the bulb to make it easier to pull out the scape. Be careful not to damage the flower buds when making the cuts.

Wash the daffodil bulbs and plant them in pots. It is best to bury the entire bulb when planting. After planting, water thoroughly, and then it is best to water every day. When the daffodil flower stalks begin to grow, reduce the amount of watering and just keep the sand bed moist. The breeding temperature should be maintained at 10℃-15℃.

Precautions for growing daffodils in sand

The daffodils grown in sand are ordinary daffodils, and carved daffodils are not suitable. When planting in large areas, be careful not to make the density too high, and be careful not to damage the leaves when handling.

When growing daffodils in sand, they need to maintain sufficient light, a low maintenance temperature and a good ventilation environment. Note that when there is insufficient light or the temperature is too high, the plant is more likely to grow too tall. Due to poor ventilation, daffodils are prone to diseases and pests.

When conditions are similar, daffodils grown in sand will bloom later than those grown in water, usually a dozen days later.
