How to sow and propagate miniature coconut

Miniature Coconut Seed Treatment

Before sowing miniature coconut palms, you first need to select suitable seeds. Only when the seeds are selected well can the sowing be successful. When sowing, it is best to choose seeds harvested that year, because seeds cannot be stored for a long time, which will affect the germination rate of seeds. The seeds should preferably be full, free of pests and diseases.

The selected seeds need to be sterilized, and the soil also needs to be sterilized. The sterilized seeds need to continue to germinate. Soak the seeds in warm water for 24 hours. When the seeds absorb and swell, they are ready.

How to sow miniature coconut palms

The seeds of the dwarf coconut palm that have been germinated can be used for sowing. The sowing time range of the dwarf coconut palm is relatively wide, and it can be carried out in spring, summer, autumn and winter.

Sow the seeds of the miniature coconut palm on the prepared soil, and make sure to cover them with a layer of soil about one centimeter after sowing. After sowing, put the entire seedling pot into water, and make sure the water depth reaches two-thirds of the height of the pot. This will allow the water to slowly seep up and soak the soil.

Notes on planting miniature coconut palms

After sowing, the miniature coconut trees need to be cared for and managed. First of all, if you are sowing miniature coconut palms in early spring, late autumn or winter, you need to pay attention to the maintenance temperature, because the temperature is relatively low at these times and needs to be kept warm. You can use plastic film to wrap the flower pot to keep warm and moist.

When the miniature coconut palm begins to sprout, remove the plastic film. After all the seeds have emerged, thinning out the seedlings is necessary, retaining the seedlings with better growth. When the seedlings grow more than 3 leaves, they can be transplanted.
