More sun will make the pots bloom

Succulent lovers look forward to their succulents blooming out of their pots every day, but in fact, the green ivy can also do this. If you want the green radish to grow out of the pot, it needs more sunlight. Grow it outdoors, block the midday sun, avoid strong sunlight, and let the green radish enjoy the sunbath at other times! When growing indoors, it is best to place the green radish near the window so that it can receive sunlight at any time except at noon in midsummer. But you should take it outdoors from time to time to enjoy the pure smell of sunshine.

Spray water to keep healthy

For long-term open-air cultivation, water it once every 1 to 2 days in summer, and water it as long as the soil in the pot is dry in other seasons. The green ivy has fleshy roots, so a small amount of water shortage will not cause any problems, but if it is watered too much, the roots will rot and its growth will be affected. When there is plenty of sunshine outdoors, you can spray water a few more times. The main purpose is to clean the leaves indoors and avoid dust accumulation.

When growing indoors, water the plant after the soil in the pot is completely dry. After growing the plant for a while, take it outdoors and water it thoroughly. Then, grow the plant for a few days before moving it back indoors. When it comes to watering, it should be done under good ventilation conditions or in the hot summer season, and try to avoid it at other times.

Watering and sunlight should be matched with each other. As long as the two are relatively sufficient, there will be no problem for the green ivy to grow taller quickly.

Repotting and root system

The flowerpot for the green ivy should not be too big or too deep. It does not mean that the plant will grow as big as the pot you are given. When the crown diameter of the green radish exceeds 1.5 times the diameter of the pot mouth, you need to change to a larger pot. Only in a comfortable space of appropriate size can the green radish grow quickly.

There is also a little trick when repotting. Use a wooden stick to break up the roots of the green radish. Failure to break them up will affect the combination of soil and roots and hinder the absorption of nutrients. In an environment with poor ventilation, root rot may also occur.

Rain on leaves

When it rains, especially when there is a thunderstorm, you can take the plants outdoors and let them soak in the rain for a while. The rain can nourish the leaves and make them clean and dry. The rain contains many trace elements that promote the growth of the green radish. (This rule basically applies to all flowers and plants!) However, if the green radish has just been watered the day before, do not let it be exposed to the rain for too long to avoid waterlogging in the soil and root rot.

How to grow hydroponics quickly

Compared with soil-grown green radish, the growth of hydroponic green radish is relatively slow, and no matter how well it is maintained, it is not as good as the one grown in soil. However, hydroponic green radish is easy to maintain, and it is the easiest method for lazy people. So how can we make hydroponic green radish grow faster than expected?

Not too much water

The roots of the water-grown green radish cannot be completely immersed in water. 1/3 of the roots should be exposed outside, and the leaves cannot come into contact with water to avoid rotting and affecting the water quality. Don't change the water too often, once every half a month, and just add less water during that time.

In addition, when hydroponically cultivating green radish, you should choose a wide-mouthed pot so that the branches and leaves have enough space to grow, and the water surface has enough contact with the air to provide more oxygen.

Root trimming + sunbathing

Every time you change the water, cut off the soft old roots in time (many flower lovers ignore this) to save some nutrients. In addition, place the green radish in a place where it can get sunlight, get more sunlight, and ensure air circulation.

Stop fish farming

Raising fish in a container for hydroponic green radish is not only for aesthetics, but also because the organic matter produced by goldfish can provide nutrients for the green radish and prevent the growth of green moss in the water. However, goldfish consume oxygen in the water, and the green radish grows slowly due to lack of oxygen.

So if you want the hydroponic green radish to grow faster, it’s better to take the fish out.

Use nutrient solution

Adding nutrient solution is a way to promote the growth of green radish, but it is not suitable for long-term use. Every time you change the water, just add 2 to 3 drops to the water. When adding nutrient solution, green algae may appear in the hydroponic container, so the container must be cleaned when changing the water.
