How to sow Algae Bell Jade

How to sow Algae Bell Jade

Sowing conditions of Algae Bell Jade

temperature

The best temperature for sowing Algae Bell Jade is 15-25℃. When the room temperature drops below 30℃, you can start preparing for sowing.

weather

In order to prevent the Algae Bell Jade seedlings from not seeing light after sowing and causing them to grow too tall, you can check the weather forecast first to make sure there will be no rainy weather in the next seven days before sowing!

The sowing steps of Algae Bell Jade

Preparation before sowing

Just mix peat and small-particle Kanuma soil in a ratio of 5:1!

The next step is disinfection. The night before sowing, soak the pot filled with soil in potassium permanganate solution. The liquid level should not be higher than the surface of the pot. At the same time, the concentration of potassium permanganate solution should not be too high, and the solution should be dark pink. If it is too high, it will kill the beneficial bacteria in the soil!

By the next morning, after a night of soaking, the potassium permanganate solution had penetrated the soil. Take the pots out and dry them in the sun, and you can start sowing by noon!

sowing

Remember to water the soil thoroughly before sowing, and then proceed to the next step. We need to pour the seeds of Algae Bell Jade on white paper, fold the white paper horizontally so that the paper groove is diagonally facing the pot, and gently tap the paper groove with a stick to make the seeds slide evenly onto the soil surface.

Don't rush to cover the soil after sowing. Spray carefully with 1000 times carbendazim water and wait until the bottom of the pot leaks. At the same time, the concentration of carbendazim cannot be too high, otherwise it may kill the seedlings! When spraying water, you must remember that the mist should be fine and the movements should be gentle, otherwise the seeds are likely to be blown away.

Finally, cover the seed pot with plastic wrap and place it in a place with sufficient light!

Post-sowing management

After sowing, open a small gap in the plastic wrap every day, ventilate for about 2 hours, spray some water and then cover it again. To prevent bacteria from growing due to high humidity, we need to spray fungicide every 3 days. Insecticides can be chosen as 1000 times of carbendazim and thiophanate-methyl. Spraying the two alternately can effectively prevent bacteria from developing drug resistance.

After 7 days: the seedlings sprout, and then we should slowly lift the plastic wrap and give the seedlings sufficient light. Without light, the seedlings will grow too tall!

After one and a half months: the seedlings begin to shed their skin for the first time. Please remember that the Algae Bell Jade is most afraid of waterlogging. At this time, you must strictly control the water. However, if the soil in the pot is too dry, we can use a small amount of spray to increase the humidity. In addition, one thing to note at this time is to evenly spread small particles of Kanuma soil around the seedlings. This can straighten up some of the seedlings that are tilted, and on the other hand, it can ensure that the root necks of the seedlings are not burned by the sun.

After 2 months: The cute "little rabbit" slowly disappears, and we will see that the shape of the algae bell jade is gradually moving closer to a heart shape.

4 months later: The algae bell jade shed its skin for the second time. Unlike the first time, the old leaves shed this time not only did not wither, but grew stronger and stronger. After 10 days, it will undergo a third molting, and then a fourth molting within a week. There is one thing in common in these moltings, that is, the old leaves do not wither but continue to grow vigorously. So remember to prepare a big basin at the beginning!

After 5 months: If you did not prepare a large pot at the beginning, then now, in order for the algae bell jade to grow healthily, you can transplant them into a larger pot to make them grow more vigorously!
