Two forms of soil preparation for succulent plantsGranular FlowGranular soil includes Akadama, Kanuma, Uekinstone, Hyuga soil, Kiryu sand, pumice, iridescent stone, diatomaceous earth, volcanic rock, vermiculite, perlite, humic acid granules, and so on. Many people advocate granular flow, but I didn't understand it at the time and followed the trend blindly. I believe that the experience of predecessors is gained from practice and can help me avoid some detours. However, in the process of my own cultivation, I found that the results were not so good. The first thing I felt was that the plants grew very slowly and had difficulty taking root. In addition, many types of granular soils, such as Akadama and Kanuma, were very easy to break when the temperature difference was large. As we all know, plants absorb water and nutrients through the fibrous roots (hairy roots) on the lateral roots, and the main roots only play a supporting role. If there is too much granular soil, the newly sprouted hairy roots will all die because they cannot grab the soil and the air is dry. If it is raised outdoors, the problem will be more serious. Another serious problem is soil compaction. Think about it, what is the difference between granular soil and granular soil powder with the intervention of water and concrete pavement? It was so hard that I couldn't even poke it with tweezers, and the soil in the flowerpot didn't collapse at all when I turned it upside down. How could I grow flowers well with such soil? So to sum up, granular soil has more disadvantages than advantages for beginners, so don't use granular soil to grow succulents easily. Peat flowHere is a soil preparation method for flower lovers: Pin's peat + granular peat + pumice + diatom + rice husk charcoal + granular vermiculite + perlite + improved granular soil (similar to organic fertilizer). The surface is either volcanic rock or diatom. Succulents are all small seedlings with weak root systems. Do not directly use granular soil for the newly purchased succulents, as the roots of the succulents cannot withstand the tossing and turning. When succulents are planted in peat, their roots can eat the soil, they grow stronger and stronger, and the plant shape becomes much more beautiful. SummaryAs I said, the information on the Internet is the crystallization of everyone's wisdom, there is no right or wrong. It's just that you use it in the wrong place. It depends on how you use it. If you raise a big turtle, you have to use granular soil. If you want to sow seeds, you need fiber soil. Don't be too serious and don't follow the rules. If you use a clay pot or grow it outdoors, do you also use full-granular soil? That would be exhausting, and the most enjoyable part of playing with meat is the process of exploring it yourself. |
