Super practical lazy cutting method, survival rate 100%

Materials for cuttings preparation

Plastic box, white bottom sand for the fish tank (not too coarse), potassium permanganate solution, and plant branches.

Cutting steps

Put the prepared fish tank bottom sand into the foam box and wash it several times with clean water before doing so.

Pour the prepared potassium permanganate solution into the foam box (the color should be purple-red, not too dark), the height of which must cover the bottom sand, and the thickness must ensure that after the branches are inserted, there is still a certain amount of space underneath for the roots to grow.

The prepared branches can be selected from a variety of plants.

Insert the branches into the box, place the box in diffuse light, and keep the temperature above 25℃. The water in the box will slowly evaporate. Below is the cutting seedling two weeks later. At this time, the root system has basically formed and you can add some water appropriately.

If you are worried, you can pull out a branch and take a look. The white roots have already grown.

Cutting precautions

The reason for choosing fish tank bottom sand is that it contains no organic matter, which can prevent the branches from rotting. At the same time, the particles of the bottom sand are moderate in size and have good air permeability.

Regarding whether to cut off the flowers and excess branches and leaves, it is best to cut them off so that the nutrients in the branches will not be wasted.

It is best to use fresh branches for branch cuttings. Do not choose dried cuts. If the dehydration time is too long, the activity of the branches will easily be lost, making it difficult to successfully cut.

Another important factor to ensure the success of the lazy man's method of cuttings is "cutting the right flowers and plants in the right season." If the temperature is too low in winter, it is advisable to take cuttings of cool-loving plants such as Impatiens, Angel's Eyes, and Margaret indoors. It is not suitable to take cuttings of plants that grow obviously slowly in winter such as Dianthus and Dwarf Bull. Cuttings should be taken during the growth period of the plant.
