How to keep nasturtium plant short

How to keep nasturtium plant short

1. Topping during the seedling stage

Nasturtium grows fast and has strong apical dominance. In order to keep the plant short, it should be topped during the seedling stage to trigger new branches. After the seedlings grow five to six leaves, remove the top two to three leaves through pruning, so that the leaves retained at the lower end will germinate and grow new branches. Among the three or four leaves, remove one or two more leaves. Repeat this two or three times to produce a fuller plant shape.

2. Bracket traction

After the nasturtium blooms, you can build a support to pull the flowering branches and use spiral growth to make the nasturtium look like a shorter plant.
