How to dwarf nasturtium

Why do we need to dwarf nasturtiums?

When I was in high school, my classmates prepared a gift for the teacher. It was a pot of flowers, but it had been processed. After giving it to the teacher, the teacher was not happy because he felt that it was Prometheus bound.

Later, the class monitor gave the teacher a naturally grown flower of the same variety. The teacher said that Prometheus Bound also has its own unique charm.

To dwarf nasturtium is to shape it into the Prometheus with unique charm. Nasturtiums left to grow naturally have a crazy, messy beauty, but it’s better not to be too wild.

How to dwarf nasturtium

The stems of nasturtium usually need to be strengthened by a support. If they are allowed to grow naturally, the stems will inevitably be too long and affect the appearance.

In order to control the unlimited growth of its stems and vines, when the nasturtium enters the initial flowering period and its stems and vines have grown to 30-40 cm, spray the leaves with 100PPM of paclobutrazol solution to promote its dwarfing.

The effect can be seen three days after spraying. The main vine becomes thicker, the top vine grows slowly, and the flowers on the side vines bloom one after another, which is quite beautiful.

At the same time, the flowers and leaves of nasturtium are highly phototropic, so when cultivating or viewing them, their position should be changed frequently to ensure even growth.
