How to grow white orchid

How to grow white orchid

1. Breeding environment

(1) Temperature: White orchid prefers warmth. In winter, please note that areas north of South China need to be placed indoors for maintenance, and the temperature must be above five degrees. Around the Qingming Festival, it can be moved outdoors.

(2) Watering: White orchid is afraid of stagnant water. When watering, wait until the soil in the pot is dry before watering, and water thoroughly. Do not water every day, and do not water too much. In summer, you can spray some water on the leaves.

(3) Fertilizer: The period when it is needed is mainly during the period of rapid growth. During this stage, fertilizer should be used every half a month, two to six grams each time. Nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizers can be used.

(4) Soil: It should be loose and fertile, and based on the plant's characteristics of growing well in acidic soil, prepare slightly acidic soil for it.

2. Pest and disease control

White orchid is susceptible to diseases and pests. For example, if there is chlorosis, spray the leaf surface with a 0.2% concentration of ferrous sulfate solution once every five days to a week. For example, for anthrax, you can use chlorothalonil. Pests such as red spiders can be captured manually when their numbers are small. If the quantity is large, it is necessary to spray pesticides, such as 40 percent concentration of omethoate solution.

3. Pruning

The main purpose is to make the plant at an appropriate height. You can cut off the top buds and some side branches, so that the plant will grow vigorously and bloom more.

4. Repotting

Generally it is replaced every two years. In addition to replacing part of the old soil, you also need to change to a larger pot. Before replacement, it is necessary to disinfect and lay a drainage layer.
