How to sow morning glory

How to sow morning glory

Prepare the Materials

The first choice is to have a flowerpot that will allow the seeds to grow in a diameter of 20 cm. If you use a pot that is too small, the roots of the morning glory will not be easy to extend and will not grow healthily. However, if you want to increase the germination rate, it is best to use small flower pots for seedlings, one seed in each pot, and replant the seeds after they germinate and grow leaves. Not to mention soil and necessary gardening tools.

Seed Soaking

Because morning glory seeds have a hard shell, they are not easy to germinate without soaking, so soak the seeds in water for one night .

Repotting soil

Put the prepared seedling soil into a small flowerpot. Here we use a seedling pot. Press it with your hands while filling it. Break up large pieces of soil and throw the ones that cannot be broken into the bottom of another pot next to it. Then water it thoroughly and set it aside.

sowing

The seeds of morning glory are relatively small. When sowing, you can use tools, such as tweezers or a spoon to place a seed on the ground and press it down slightly.

After sowing, place them in a humid environment or in a seedling box.

Growth

Long leaves

In fact, roots start to grow from the first day of sowing, but we can't see them underneath. After eight days, its stem will emerge from the soil, raising its cotyledons like a head.

flowering

About forty days after sowing, small flower buds begin to grow on the petiole of the main leaf. It takes about thirty days from bud to flowering, and the day before flowering, the stamens inside the bud will quickly elongate.

It takes quite a while for the buds to loosen from being twisted tightly, but once they are halfway open, they will fully bloom in just a few tens of minutes.
