The difference between Caragana and Goldfinch

1. Difference of blades

The leaves of Caragana are thick leathery or papery, obovate or oblong-obovate in shape, with 2 pairs of leaflets, about 1-3.5 cm long and 5-15 mm wide. The tip is rounded or slightly notched, with or without a thorn tip, the base is wedge-shaped or broadly wedge-shaped, the color above is dark green and the below is light green.

The leaves of the golden broom are obovate at first, and become elliptical in the later stage. They are much smaller than the former, about 5-15 mm long and 3-5 mm wide. The leaves on the upper stem will be smaller.

2. The difference between flowers

The corolla of Caragana is yellow, usually with a red tint, about 2.8-3 cm long, with a narrow obovate standard petal. The flowering period is from April to May each year.

The corolla of the goldfinch is bright yellow and similar in size to the former. The standard petal is oval and then round. The flowering period is from May to July each year.
