What to do after the lotus seeds germinate

What should I do if the seeds germinate?

It's a good thing that the seeds have sprouted. It's no big deal and you can just take care of them as usual. However, if you want the buds to grow faster, you need to do the following:

Change its water frequently and take it out to bask in the sun.

Change to a larger bowl to give it enough space to grow. A well-grown bud can grow to more than 20 centimeters.

The seeds grow roots very slowly, so wait until they have grown roots before transplanting them into silt soil. Don't put too many water lilies in each pot. Just put one in a pot with a diameter of about 16 cm . Don't put the soil too thick. If the pot is large, spread 4 to 5 cm; if the pot is small, spread 8 to 10 cm. Just change the water later and let it bask in the sun.

Maintenance points after germination

Seed germination in perfect condition

Two leaves, one heart + long roots. You can clearly see two floating leaves, and the milky white roots with reddish tops have begun to grow.

Transplantation time

The fourth leaf is unfolding and the fifth leaf is just emerging. This is the best time to transplant. If it has not yet established, you will find that the fourth leaf is getting smaller and smaller. The main reason is that the nutrients of the bowl lotus are basically exhausted, and the required nutrients need to be obtained through the roots contacting the soil. If it is not transplanted in time, the bowl lotus will be difficult to survive.

Planting time

Cloudy days are best, followed by evening and early morning. Do not plant at noon. In addition, the three days after transplanting are the time for the seedlings to grow. It is recommended to place them in a place without direct sunlight during these three days, and then move them back into the sunlight.
