When to fertilize the fortune tree? What to do if you fertilize too much

When to fertilize the fortune tree? What to do if you fertilize too much

1. Fertilization time

Fertilizing the money tree is generally done between May and September. This is the period when it grows more vigorously, and reasonable fertilization can help it grow. The interval between each fertilization should not be too long, usually top dressing is sufficient every 15 days or so. In addition, it is necessary to add basal fertilizer when repotting.

You can use cake fertilizer, bone meal fertilizer, compound fertilizer, or fermented rice water to meet its growth needs. Please note that you cannot use raw fertilizer, concentrated fertilizer or over-fertilize, as these situations will cause fertilizer damage. Do not apply fertilizer on the plant, let alone on the leaves, as it can easily burn it.

2. What to do if you apply too much fertilizer

1. When too much fertilizer is applied, if it is not particularly serious, you can first alleviate it by watering. Give the plants more water; the water can wash away the fertilizer and reduce the degree of fertilizer damage.

2. If there is no improvement after watering, or if more adverse growth symptoms appear. Then you should take the money tree out of the pot, clean the roots with water, and check whether there are rotten roots. If there are, cut off the rotten roots and disinfect them. The soil used previously needs to be replaced with new nutrient soil and the plants planted in it. In the later stage, it is necessary to apply fertilizer reasonably and avoid excessive fertilization.
