Bodhi tree cultivation methods and precautions

Bodhi tree cultivation methods and precautions

1. Watering

Bodhi trees grow fastest when the temperature is above 20℃. At this time, they need a lot of water, so the soil in the pot should always be kept moist. Watering should be carried out according to the principle of watering when the soil is dry and watering when the soil is wet. In midsummer, in addition to ensuring the water supply, you should also spray water on the leaves more often. After the temperature drops in late autumn, gradually reduce watering. There should not be excess water in the soil, and it should not be too dry.

2. Fertilization

During the maintenance period, you can apply thin cake fertilizer water once every 15 days or so. When applying fertilizer, you should insist on applying small amounts but frequently. Fertilization should be stopped in midsummer and when the temperature is below 12℃, otherwise it will be detrimental to plant absorption and easily burn the plant roots.

3. Temperature

The suitable temperature for the growth of Bodhi tree is 15-25℃, but it can grow normally at room temperature above 5℃. When the room temperature is low, the flowering period can be maintained for a longer time, but the flowering will be slow. When the room temperature is high, the flowers bloom quickly, but the flowering period is short, so the appropriate temperature is the best condition for its flowering.

4. Lighting

It likes sunlight and should be placed in sunny places such as windows and balconies. Move the flowerpot from time to time so that there is sunlight on all sides. Adequate light can make the flowers more colorful and the leaves more shiny. Although it is a relatively shade-tolerant plant, insufficient light for a long time can easily cause the leaves to become sick.
