The cultivation methods and precautions of Japanese knotweed

The cultivation methods and precautions of Japanese knotweed

1. Maintenance methods

1. Sunlight: Japanese knotweed loves sunlight very much. The stronger the sunlight, the more vigorously it grows. Usually, it should be given sufficient light and kept away from shade. It is important to avoid excessive exposure to the sun in the summer, as the plants may suffer from sunburn and leaf damage.

2. Soil: Although it does not have high requirements for soil, you should also choose a field with thick soil, fertile and loose soil, breathable and drainable. It can be planted in front of and behind houses, in fields, beside ditches, and by streams, but remember to turn the soil frequently.

3. Temperature: Japanese knotweed is very resistant to drought and cold. It is a plant that does not require too much care. Just keep it away from severe cold and excessive sunlight and water it frequently.

4. Nutrients: When plowing the soil, 1,500 to 2,000 kilograms of fully rotted manure should be applied as base fertilizer per mu. When planting, appropriate phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizers should be spread, about 20 to 25 kilograms per mu.

2. Precautions

1. Pruning: Japanese knotweed grows quickly, and various weeds also emerge in an endless stream, so be sure to remember to weed in time. Otherwise, the nutrients in the soil will be absorbed by various weeds. The soil should be loosened appropriately to provide it with a good growth environment.

2. Diseases: Japanese knotweed has strong resistance to diseases and pests and generally does not get sick, but you should not be careless and just do normal maintenance work.
