How to Propagate Ranunculus

How to Propagate Ranunculus

1. Seeding method

(1) Seed selection and processing: To get good seeds, you must first select a strong mother plant, and then pay attention to its management at all times so that the seeds can be full and healthy. In addition, the seeds must be processed before sowing. Generally, low temperature is used for germination. First wrap it with gauze and soak it in cold water for twenty-four hours, then refrigerate it in a refrigerator at eight to ten degrees.

(2) Soil preparation: There are many preparation methods. The main requirements are looseness, breathability, fertility and acidity.

(3) Time selection: The best time is autumn, around October. When the temperature is below twenty degrees.

(4) Sowing and subsequent maintenance: Sowing should be even. After sowing, the temperature must be warm and the humidity must be appropriate.

2. Division method

(1) Time selection: It is similar to the sowing method, from September to October.

(2) Substrate selection: Generally, wet sand, about five centimeters thick, is selected.

(3) Root treatment: dig out dormant root tubers. Then, shake off the soil on top and break it apart according to its growth rate. Each part must have one or two buds and three or four small root tubers. Afterwards, disinfect it in potassium permanganate solution. Moreover, germination treatment is also required.

(4) Insert into wet sand: Place the tubers in a ventilated and cool place, and then insert the tubers into the wet sand. To prevent it from rotting, it needs to be disinfected with carbendazim.

(5) Subsequent treatment: The most important thing is to ensure that the soil is moist. After about twenty days, new roots will grow.
